Shelley Cook, Councilmember for District 3
Shelley was elected to represent Arvada’s District 3 in 2009. With considerable help, she founded and is president of Ride Provide, Inc., a non-profit transit company that operates the A-Line airport shuttle and the Coal Creek Express served two prior terms on the City Council, working as an at-large member from 1993 to 2001.
A Colorado native who has lived in the Olde Town area of Arvada for 27 years, Shelley has always been interested in transportation and land use, focusing in her prior term on issues such as the extension of W. 72nd Avenueand then (and now) on the Gold Line rail line and associated transit-oriented development. She has Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Business from the University of Colorado and a Master’s in Public Administration from the Kennedy School at Harvard. A matter of great importance to her is being readily accessible to residents of District 3 and Arvada.
