Engineering (Division)

Engineering is responsible for the development and implementation of the standards for street construction, utility work and storm water drainage on all projects in the city.

Floodplain management is also a responsibility of the Engineering Division. The City's goal in floodplain management is to reduce the risk to life and property during floods.

All work within the City's streets is regulated and inspected by the Engineering Division. Contractors and utilities working in the street are required to be licensed by the city and have a permit for the work they are doing.
