Every police department relies on it's Records Unit to keep and maintain most records related to the police function.
Members of the Arvada Police Department's Records Unit complete a variety of jobs. One job is the typing of officer narratives. This means when a police officer "calls in a report", a records clerk then types the report from the taped information from the officer.
In addition to the typing of narratives, clerks also enter information related to accidents, arrests, warrants, citations, field contacts and offenders in the department's records system. The clerks also work in state and national databases (CCIC/NCIC) to enter/modify/cancel warrants, missing people and stolen items.
The Records Unit is also responsible for disseminating the City of Arvada's Sex Offender List to the public. The list of registered sex offenders living in Arvada is available to anyone who requests the information, free of charge.
To obtain a copy of the list, you can visit the Records Unit 24-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week at the Arvada Police Department in the main police lobby.
