The City of Arvada Public Works Department mission is to provide the highest quality of services to the public. The mission is accomplished through the use of resources, technology, innovation, teamwork, and coordination with other service providers in the City.
Public Works is responsible for planning, maintaining, and improving the infrastructure of the City. This department maintains more than 1,440 lane miles of paved streets, virtually 1,000 miles of curb, gutter, sidewalks and medians, about 2,300 storm and irrigation ditches, and nearly 600,000 square feet of facilities.
The administration of Public Works oversees the day-to-day direction of the department but also sets the long-term business and budgetary goals and direction of the department through policies and directives established by the City Manager and City Council.
