New Arvada Skate Park Now Open!

The new Arvada Skate Park, located at 12920 W. 72nd Avenue, is now open.!  Due to the overwhelming demand by the skaters to use the park, the city has taken down the fences that surrounded the skate park.

There are minor items that need to be completed such as landscaping that must wait until spring. The lighting system will soon be operable. The new Arvada Skate Park has been under construction since the spring of 2011. Two Contractors have been working on the project;Team Pain, a skate park design/build company based in Florida, was hired to build and design the skating surface which is over 40,000 square feet.  Most of the workers on the skate park are Colorado residents, including Team Pain's project manager. Urban Farmer, a local contractor, is the general contractor assigned to complete the park infrastructure improvements which include grading/drainage, entrance road and parking lot construction , irrigation,  landscaping, signs, lighting, site furniture, shade structures and other miscellaneous items.

A majority of the work is now completed, and the Team Pain portion of the project, the skating surface, is wrapping up a few minor finishing touches.  The general contractor ,Urban Farmer and their subcontractors, will periodically need to access the park to complete additional work. Skaters should be aware that periodically areas of the park must be temporarily closed down to totally complete the park and test the lighting and irrigations systems.

An official grand opening is being planned for the spring of 2012.
