2018 Bike Recycle Event

Drop off your unused bikes for recycling! Saturday, June 9; 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Streets Maintenance Facility, 6161 Olde Wadsworth Blvd.

About the Bike Recycle Program

The Bicycle Recycle Program is a partnership between the City, the Golden/Arvada Lake Arbor Optimists and A New Spin Bike Recyclery. Unused bikes are collected, refurbished and then distributed to community members who cannot afford to buy one. You can bring your unused bike to the June 9 event or, the following locations and contacts offer year round collection of unused bikes.

Email a contact for the location you wish to drop off a bike to make sure someone will be there to pick it up.

  • Arvada Location: Arvada High School north parking lot; 7951 West 65th Ave, Arvada. (Look for the blue storage container).

  • Golden Location: Connections Learning Center, 1200 Johnson Road, Golden (just north of the post office). Hours: Tuesday and Thursday from 1 - 5 p.m. year 'round.

A New Spin Bike Recyclery Location and Contact

A New Spin Bike Recyclery,a non-profit organization accepts used bicycles and bicylce gear for distribution to citizens who otherwise would not have access to a bicycle. a New Spin staff also teach job skills to at-risk youth & kids/adults with disabilities.

  • Location: 6410 Wadsworth Bypass; 303-945-6205.
  • Hours: Tuesday,Wednesday and Thursday from 12:30 - 5:30 p.m., Saturday from 12 - 5 p.m. and Sunday 10-3 (or by appointment) for bike donations. The shop is closed Mondays and Fridays.
