Arvada Flooding 2013 - Videos and Photos

The largest rainfall event in Arvada in recent history occurred over a 36-hour period in mid-September 2013. During the storms and subsequent flooding, the City of Arvada, while spared the destruction of other nearby counties, experienced many areas of impact. Damages reported included water supply monitoring equipment destroyed at both Ralston Reservoir and Arvada/Blunn Reservoir; inflow channels were eroded; city water treatment plants had problems with turbid water; roadways were overtopped and houses were damaged; and stormwater and canal flows were commingled and canal embankments were breached.

The following videos and photos capture some of the areas in Arvada most profoundly impacted by the storms. Arvada Media Services staff and City employees captured the images while monitoring the flood-impacted areas.
