No Proof of Insurance Charges

If you received a ticket in the City of Arvada with a No Proof of Insurance violation, you will find all necessary information on the back, upper right-hand side of your yellow ticket or at the bottom of your electronic ticket.

In order for the violation to be dismissed, the following steps must be taken:

The Court requires you to contact your insurance agent and request a letter on insurance company letterhead be faxed to the Court at 720-898-7164 verifying that the person who received the ticket was fully insured to drive the vehicle identified on the ticket at the date and time of violation. The letter must confirm coverage for the vehicle that you were driving at the time of the violation in order for the charge to be dismissed. Once the letter has been faxed to the Court, you may appear before your court date to pay the administrative fee and have the case closed. Please contact the Court to make sure that the insurance information has been received. If another charge appears on your citation, you may be able to handle that the same time, depending on the charge.

A copy of your insurance card will not be accepted as proof of insurance

Please note: If the vehicle you were driving is registered to another individual, the letter must state that you were authorized to drive that insured vehicle.

If you cannot provide proof of insurance, you will be required to enter a plea in court.
