The Investigation Bureau of the Arvada Police Department is composed of three investigative units: Persons, Property, and Crimes Against Children (CAC). The Property Unit conducts follow-up investigations involving personal and public property to include burglary, arson, auto theft, criminal mischief, and fraud. The Persons Unit likewise is responsible for criminal investigations involving sexual assault, homicide, robbery and assault. The third bureau function is the CAC Unit, which investigates matters involving juvenile victimization such as child abuse and sexual assault on children. The Investigation Bureau also maintains a fully staffed Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) unit with the capacity to analyze trace evidence, blood alcohol, narcotics and fingerprint comparisons. The bureau also has liquor licensing responsibilities which assist the City Clerk's Office and the City Liquor Licensing Authority in providing information regarding applicants for city liquor licenses. Any of the individual units and individual investigators can be reached by calling 720-898-6700. If you wish to report a crime, please call 720-898-6900. If you wish to report a life-threatening emergency, call 911.
