The City of Arvada offers a Resident Tax Rebate to qualifying Arvada Residents. This program begins May 1st and ends October 31st each year.
In order to qualify for the Tax Rebate applicants must not exceed the Very Low-Income limits as set forth by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development AND meet at least one of the following additional requirements:
• The applicant or the applicant's spouse is 65 years of age or older, or
• The applicant is the head of household as defined by the IRS Code, or
• The applicant is single and between the ages of 55 and 65, or
• The applicant is disabled, meaning, he/she is unable to engage in substantial gainful activity by reason of any medically determinable physical or mental impairment.
Income from all sources including, Social Security, Interest & Dividends, Old Age Pension, Retirement, Distribution Payments, Welfare (TANF), Veterans Benefits, Alimony, Child Support, Worker's Comp, Unemployment and Life Insurance will be considered when determining eligibility.
The first member of the household will receive $85 and additional members will receive $50. Documentation of age, income and residency are required for this program. A household is made up of everyone that resides at the address whether they are related, share finances, or not.
