Gas Log Installations

A permit is required prior to the installation of a gas log.  A homeowner or licensed contractor can obtain a permit to do the work.  Permit fees are minimal and based on the cost of the installation.  Click here to access the fee schedule.

You will need to bring the following information in person to City Hall, Building Division, 8101 Ralston Rd. 8:00 to 5:00 Monday through Friday: the manufacturer, the model, the BTU rating and who it is approved by, a sketch of the existing gas line, size and length from meter, and the input BTU rating of all appliances served.  If the installation will be in the prefab fireplace, provide the brand and model.  By providing complete information, the permit can usually be issued while you wait.
