Planning, Zoning, and Development

The purpose of the City Planning and Development Division is to create a high-quality physical environment and a desirable community in conformance with City policies and regulations.  The division gathers and disseminates planning information to the public, other City departments, Boards and Commissions, and City Council. The division is responsible for updating and implementing the Comprehensive Plan; processing applications for annexation, rezoning, site development and subdivisions; and coordinating community and City department input.

If you cannot  find what you are looking for, please contact the Planner-of-the-Day. A Planner-of-the-Day staffs the planning counter on the second floor of the Arvada City Hall, 8101 Ralston Road, Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, to answer questions on a walk-in basis, by phone at 720-898-7435, or via email at
