Nancy Ford was elected in 2015 as Councilmember for District 1 and re-elected to that position is 2017. She has served on the Citizens’ Capital Improvement Project Committee, the Arvada Sustainability Advisory Committee, and the Arvada Sustainability Working Group. She has been an active participant in the development/revision of the Arvada Park System Master Plan, the Comprehensive Plan, and other City issues.
Nancy has a strong desire to see Arvada’s arts and historic communities grow because she believes they are an important basis for economic vitality. She is an enthusiastic supporter of wise resource stewardship and civic pride and engagement.
Nancy is a marketing researcher, adjunct professor, and artist. She has an Interdisciplinary Ph.D. from the University of Wyoming. She and her husband Jim, a water resource engineer, have lived in Arvada since 2008. They share their home with their toy poodle, Teddy.
