Permits are required for electrical projects in residential homes.

Before you Apply

If this work is being complete as part of a larger remodel, addition or new construction project, please use the sub-contractor signature form to sign on to the permit.

  • For electrical or gas lines a single line drawing maybe required.

Plan Reviews

Depending on the scope of the project a plan review may be required.


  • Permit fees
  • Use Tax. Use Tax are based on the total value of construction. Use Tax is 56% of the job value multiplied by 3.46%. For refunds on Use Tax please see the Sales and Use Tax link to the right.


Inspections can be scheduled until 6:00 a.m. of the desired inspection date. Inspections are completed Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. All inspection can be scheduled using or by calling 720-898-7630 and using the automated line. A 3-digit inspection code is required.

Someone over the age of 18 is required to be available during inspection.

Closing the Permit
