Denver PD Car Stolen in Arvada Recovered

A detective with the Denver Police Department reported his unmarked police car stolen from the driveway of his Arvada home (near 58th and Kipling) just after 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 07, 2008.

 The unmarked vehicle is described as follows:

  • a grey, 4-door 2002 Ford Taurus 
  • Colorado license plate 356DHS

It’s believed a police-issued shotgun was in the trunk of the vehicle.

 

UPDATE:

An abandoned car in Wheat Ridge has been identified as the unmarked police car of a Denver detective reported stolen from the driveway of his Arvada home on Tuesday, October 7, 2008.

The car, a grey, 4-door, 2002 Ford Taurus was reported abandoned in the 4500 block of Everett Street. 

The Wheat Ridge Police Department received report of the abandoned vehicle at 8:35 a.m. on Thursday, October 9, 2008 and spent time canvassing the area; however, no suspect information was obtained.

The investigator’s police-issued shotgun was missing from the trunk of the vehicle.

Members of the Arvada Police Department’s Crime Lab processed the vehicle and will release the car to the victim in the case.
