For two years running, the staff at Serenity Salon (13761 W. 85th Drive) has donated profits from a fall Cut-a-Thon to the non-profit Arvada Child Advocacy Center This year’s even yielded a $1,200 donation.
On November 12th, Serenity owner Katie Serr-McClure and her staff provided $20 haircuts, pedicures and manicures. All of the profits from the day – even tips from customers – were donated to the Advocacy Center, a place where victims of physical or sexual abuse can share their stories with those in law enforcement and the medical community.
“We’re very appreciative of the donation, especially of people giving their time to bring in this money,” said Don Moseley, director of the Arvada Child Advocacy Center. “As a non-profit we depend on the generosity of citizens and businesses to provide donations se we can offer state of the art services to the children we serve.”
