Arvada, CO……. A public meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, February 17, 6:30 p.m. at Van Arsdale Elementary School to present a draft report on the Leyden Creek Drainageway Master Plan.
The September 2013 flood along Leyden Creek inundated homes and outbuildings, damaged and closed roads, and destroyed water mains. In response, the City of Arvada and Jefferson County partnered with the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District (UDFCD) to update the Leyden Creek Drainageway Master Plan. The draft report on the hydrology and analysis of the alternative solutions has been completed and reviewed by city and county staff. During the study process a few citizens from Cameo Estates were invited to serve on a committee to review an advance draft and provide comments.
The public meeting will explain the process and results. A copy of the 121 page draft report can be obtained by going to the UDFCD website - www.udfcd.org - and clicking on the “Current Projects” tab in the upper left hand corner, “Master Planning Projects,” “Leyden Creek MDP,” “Schedule & Report and, finally, “Draft Alternatives Evaluation Report – December 24, 2014.” Or you may download the pdf HERE.
Study alternatives are conceptual and do not contain detailed engineering plans nor suggest who may have any financial or regulatory responsibility to implement the plan.
