Kipling Underpass ribbon cutting ceremonyThe Kipling Street underpass is now open creating a major extension of the Van Bibber Creek Regional trail which serves as a part of Arvada’s “ low-stress,” mixed-use pathways. The underpass will also provide connectivity to Transit once the G-Line Commuter Rail and the Kipling Ridge transit station are open.

The Kipling Street underpass is the result of years of planning, beginning with the 2007 Transit Station Framework Plan, the 2009 Pedestrian and Bicycle Access Plan, and most recently the 2016 Parks, Trails, and Open Space Master Plan.  Funding for the $2.5 million project includes a $1.6 million Federal Transportation Improvement Program grant through the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG), Jeffco Open Space funds, residential development fees, and the City of Arvada.
