Chase Bank Receives Threatening Note With Powdery Substance

The Arvada Police Department, along with a hazardous materials crew from the Arvada Fire Protection District, and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, responded to the Arvada Chase Bank at 8015 Kipling Street on a report of a threatening note with an unknown substance inside the letter.

The call was received just after 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 20, 2008.

Hazmat officials determined the powder was harmless, and did not pose a threat to those who may have been exposed.

The Chase Bank in Arvada was one of six Chase banks in the Denver area receiving similar notes.

Anyone with information about this incident should call the United States Postal Inspector's Denver office at 877-876-2455 or the local FBI office at 303-629-7171.
