Body Found in Burned Arvada Office Complex Identified

(Arvada) – The Jefferson County Coroner has confirmed the identification of a body recovered from the Scenic Heights Professional Building II as John A. Rutter, 55.

Arvada Police and Fire were dispatched at 9:52 a.m. on Saturday, January 2 to a structure fire at 6475 Wadsworth Blvd, the Scenic Heights Professional Building II.

Police confirmed after speaking with occupants of the building and witnesses that Rutter was last seen at the site of the fire.

On January 4 at approximately 3 p.m., search dogs alerted to a possible body and investigators from Arvada Police and Arvada Fire located the individual.

“While this is never the outcome we hope for, we are grateful to the coroner for helping us to bring some closure to the family of John Rutter,” said Myles Heivilin, detective for the Arvada Police.

The official autopsy has not been released.

The investigation into the cause of the fire continues.
