(Arvada, CO) – The Arvada Police continue to investigate a fatal accident that occurred on Friday, May 23 at approximately 2:00 A.M.
A white Dodge Challenger was traveling westbound on W. 80 Ave. when it collided with a black GMC Yukon traveling southbound on Sheridan Blvd.
The male driver and male rear seat passenger of the GMC were unrestrained and both were ejected as a result of the collision. The driver was found deceased at the scene and the rear passenger was transported to St. Anthony Central with serious bodily injuries. He is in critical condition. The front passenger of the GMC was wearing his seatbelt and received only minor injuries.
The driver of the Challenger was transported to a nearby hospital with multiple lacerations but is expected to survive his injuries.
The investigation is on-going to include whether drugs or alcohol are involved, but are suspected to be a factor.
