Arvada Police Apprehend Alleged Arsonist

The Arvada Police have captured alleged arsonist Kenneth Lee Rascon.

Rascon (DOB 01-19-82) was spotted at 32nd & Youngfield Avenue by an Arvada officer who was doing an area search. Rascon fled on foot and a perimeter was established with the help of the Wheat Ridge Police Department.  A K-9 unit found him in hiding under a pile of leaves next to a house in the 3400 block of Wright Street.

Rascon has four felony warrants for violation of bail bond conditions. Charges against him include First Degree Arson, Burglary, Felony Animal Cruelty, First Degree Criminal Trespass and numerous violations of protective orders. There is a statewide extradition order for his arrest.

Rascon has also been charged with arson in Arvada, Colorado. He is alleged to have set fire to a house where his wife, from whom he was separated, was staying. His wife and children had just left the residence, but the family pets were in the house at the time. The family dog perished in the fire and two other pets were injured.
