An Arvada motorcycle officer suffered minor injuries after being struck by the driver of a 1995 Acura in the intersection of West 80th Avenue and Ames St. just after 9: 30 a.m. on Thursday, November 15, 2007.
The motorcycle officer, a 5-year-veteran of the department, was attempting to make a left hand turn onto eastbound 80th Avenue from Ames St. when he was struck by a driver traveling on eastbound 80th Avenue, who failed to stop at the red traffic signal, according to witnesses.
The officer was taken to Saint Anthony’s Central where he was treated and released.
The driver of the Acura was treated and released from Saint Anthony’s Central with minor injuries as well. She was later charged with careless driving resulting in injury.
