(Arvada, CO) – The City of Arvada has been named one of the Denver Post’s Top Work Places for 2012.
Arvada ranked 11th among large employers based on categories including confidence in leadership, direction provided to employees, appreciation of workers, values and ethics, encouragement of ideas, competence of management and pay and benefits.
More than 54,000 employees from 178 Denver metro area businesses completed the survey produced by Workplace Dynamics to determine this year’s rankings.
“I am extremely proud of the outstanding contributions made by City of Arvada employees on a daily basis,” said City Manager Mark Deven. “Their commitment to customer service and dedication to the community are driving forces behind this award.”
In Arvada, 82 percent of the City’s employees completed the survey. While the survey helped determine Arvada’s overall ranking in the Denver Post’s Top Work Place competition, the information gathered in the comprehensive assessment will serve as a critical tool in making continued improvements related to the performance of the organization as a whole.
“Measuring results is imperative in delivering the most effective service possible,” said Deven. “The results of the survey will be used to improve how we manage our teams; foster an environment where we encourage and support new ideas throughout the organization, and to recognize the value of Arvada’s exceptional employees.”
The City of Arvada was the only municipal government recognized in the Denver Post’s 2012 Top Work Places.
Arvada business IT Environmental Inc. was recognized as a Top Work Place in the category of small business.
