Wines for the Holidays

6:00 - 8:30 p.m. at the Egg Shell Restaurant, 5777 Olde Wadsworth Boulevard

Whether you are a wine novice or a real connoisseur, this tasting is designed for you! Organized by the Arvada Festivals Commission, hosted by the Egg Shell Restaurant, and sponsored by Balistreri Winery and other local wineries, proceeds from this event will go to the Arvada Community Food Bank.

Participants will enjoy tastings from a number of front range wineries, as well as delicious food, live musical entertainment, good friends, and a silent auction for holiday shopping.  A wide variety of wines will be presented by Balistreri Winery, Spero Winery, Creekside Cellers, and more!  From rich Merlots and vibrant Cabernets to refreshing Rieslings, floral Viogniers, and expressive Chardonnays, Colorado wines win many local and international awards.  Be adventuresome and try something new!  A sampling of delicious appetizers and desserts, generously donated by local restaurants and volunteers, will compliment the wines.  Continue your holiday shopping at the silent auction featuring many items such as dining and entertainment certificates, spa packages, gift baskets, theater tickets, jewelry, art, and other tempting and affordable items.

The 2008 Wines for the Holiday event attracted more than 240 guests who helped raise over $6,000 for the Arvada Community Food Bank.  The mission of the Food Bank is to provide emergency food and supplies to needy persons living in the northern section of Jefferson County.  All of the supplies are received through donations from businesses, schools, organizations, churches, and individuals.  With the current economy, their needs are greater than ever.  Get in the holiday spirit by supporting a great cause and attending a delightful evening with your friends.
