WINDSOR, Colo. - Windsor Town Hall will resume operations on Tuesday,

May 27, 2008. Hours of operation are 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday.

The Community Recreation Center remains the focal point for all

Community Services and Resources. Center hours will be 6 am to 10 pm and

various services may operate on different hours. For further information

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The head of the U.S. Department of Homeland

Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) today announced

that federal disaster aid has been made available for Colorado to

supplement state and local recovery efforts in the area struck by severe

storms and tornadoes on May 22, 2008.

 FEMA Administrator David Paulison said the President's action makes

federal funding available to affected individuals in Larimer and Weld

counties.

Paulison said that FEMA assistance can include grants for temporary

housing and home repairs, low-cost loans to cover uninsured property

losses and other programs to help individuals and business owners

recover from the effects of the disaster.

Federal funding is also available on a cost-sharing basis for hazard

mitigation measures statewide.

All counties in the state of Colorado are eligible to apply for

assistance under Hazard Mitigation Grant Program.

Paulison named Kenneth R. Tingman as the federal coordinating officer

for federal recovery operations in the affected area. Tingman said

additional designations may be made at a later date if requested by the

state and warranted by the results of further damage assessments.

FEMA said that residents and business owners who sustained losses in the

designated county can begin applying for assistance tomorrow by

registering online at www.fema.gov <http://www.fema.gov/> or by calling

1-800-621-FEMA(3362) or 1-800-462-7585 (TTY) for the hearing and speech

impaired. The toll-free telephone numbers will operate from 8 a.m. to 6

p.m. (local time) seven days a week until further notice.

FEMA coordinates the federal government's role in preparing for,

preventing, mitigating the effects of, responding to, and recovering

from all domestic disasters, whether natural or man-made, including acts

of terror.

WASTE REMOVAL INFORMATION

Due to emergency conditions just after the tornado the town immediately

arranged for debris removal companies to start clearing the way for

emergency personnel to treat any injured citizens and inspectors to

ensure structure stability. These efforts have largely been completed.

On Tuesday, May 27th at 9:00 am all Waste Management and Waste Chasers

dumpsters supplied by the Town of Windsor will be removed from the

severely affected areas of town.

After the dumpsters are removed property owners will need to stack

debris on their private property and ensure it is no longer on the city

streets. Anyone wanting to know about debris removal specifics should

contact their property insurance agent or company with specific

questions. Currently the town is evaluating a second phase of waste

removal where the city will provide another cycle of waste removal from

the affected areas. The details of this phase will be communicated in a

future release.

Currently the Town has been using two companies that are available for

private debris removal. You can also coordinate with the waste removal

company of your choice.

The Waste Management dump on Highway 14 is offering a reduced rate to

anyone affected by the tornado when disposing of personal property.

Representatives from Allstate, Farmers, and State Farm insurance

companies are available at the Windsor Recreation Center to answer any

questions. In addition representatives from FEMA, and the Colorado

Division of Insurance are available at the center as well.

SAFETY NOTICE

Just a reminder, please use extreme caution when re-lighting pilot

lights on water heaters or furnaces. The Town of Windsor recommends

contacting Excel Energy or the Windsor Severance Fire District to assure

that it is safe to re-light any gas appliance.
