Welcome to the New Website

Welcome to the City of Arvada's website. If you're visiting us from a location far away, you've come to the right place to learn about our special community. If you're a resident of Arvada, either long-term or new, within these pages we hope you'll find the answers to any questions you might have, from what the Arvada City Council decided at the last Council meeting to which streets are scheduled for repair.

Arvada is a special community with a unique character. Certainly, our history, culture, and location result in special places to visit, such as Historic Olde Town and the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities. But it's really the people that sets this community apart. What I love about Arvada, and what continues to strike me after living here for so many years, is the fact that somehow a City of over 100,000 people still feels like a small town.

People get involved in this community, and people know their neighbors. People who live in Arvada stay in Arvada, and their children may leave home for awhile, but as often as not, they come back. We have some of the best community festivals around, including the 80-year-old annual Harvest Festival and Parade and our spectacular Independence Day celebration. And with Colorado's beautiful weather and one of the most extensive parks and trails systems around, it's hard not to get out and enjoy this beautiful city! In fact, you can walk on almost completely uninterrupted trail from one end of Arvada to the other along the 11-mile Ralston Creek Trail.

So, whether you are a resident here, or live thousands of miles away, the remarkable technology that is the Internet will allow you to get to know Arvada, Colorado in a whole new way! Enjoy your electronic tour. We're sure you'll agree that we are "Continuing to Build a Great Community."
