Two Fisted Art Attack: Denny Dent Retrospective

Main Gallery

Denny Dent (1948-2004), considered the first performance painter and the legend of an emerging movement, is renowned for holding three loaded brushes in each hand and frenetically painting portraits of rock and roll icons on six-foot canvasses, all in a matter of minutes. Locally Dent is remembered for his performance painting at the Cherry Creek Arts Festival. This career retrospective at the Arvada Center, the largest-ever showing of his work, honors his life and his art.

Opening reception: Thursday, June 10, 2010, 6:00-9:00 p.m.
