Thundercloud Park
The City of Arvada intends to design and build the complete renovation of the existing 4-acre park at Hackberry Road, south of 72nd Avenue. A consultant team will conduct 3 neighborhood meetings leading to a final design consensus. Based on that design, the consultant will prepare construction drawings for bidding and construction through the end of 2011.
Thundercloud Park was built in 1975 with funding by the 1974 Park Bond Issue around a city water tank, which includes a playground, irrigated turf, trail, trees and planting beds, with 2 tennis courts and basketball on top of the tank. From Thundercloud Park, on-street trail extends east along 72nd Avenue to the North Arvada Middle School and west along 72nd Avenue.
