The Diviners Presented by PHAMALY

The Physically Handicapped Actors & Musical Artists League presents

The Diviners

By Jim Leonard Jr.
Directed by Christy Montour-Larson

This marvelously theatrical play is the story of a disturbed young man and his friendship with a disenchanted preacher in southern Indiana in the early 1930s. When the boy was young, he almost drowned and suffered brain damage. This trauma and the loss of his mother in the same accident left him deathly afraid of water but hypersensitive to the presence of it. The preacher, set on breaking away from a long line of Kentucky family preachers, is determined to forsake family tradition though the local women constantly urge him not to. The two outcasts find a common bond and help each other divine for truth, faith and hope. The Diviners features many of the company's top talent and will include Americana music set to the time.

Four shows only - Thurs, Fri, and Sat evening at 7:30 p.m. and Sun Matinee at 2:00 p.m.
