Sunrise Ridge Neighborhood Park - Phase 2
Sunrise Ridge Neighborhood Park- Phase 2
Sunrise Ridge Neighborhood Park is located at 6150 Quartz Loop, south of 64th Avenue, east of Easley Street. The first phase of the neighborhood park development occurred in 2005. This first phase followed directly the master plan which was established through a neighborhood meeting process. This phase included the construction of two playgrounds, one designed for young children the other designed for older children. A small basketball court, irrigation (approximately 2.5 acres of turf and a spray system to additional trees), landscaping, grading, seating areas, benches and a large concrete slab were developed. Items remaining to be completed in the original master plan are a pavilion located on the concrete slab, bocce courts, possible horseshoe courts, additional turf area, and a neighborhood sized baseball/softball backstop. Staff has worked with the homeowners association in the development of the plan and coordinating future planning efforts. The homeowners association representatives have selected the pavilion that they would like to see included in the park. There is a desire by the homeowners representatives to involve the neighborhood in the discussion to complete the master plan for the remaining 12 acres of park land. The total remaining funds for the Phase 2 completion is $782,000.
