About the 3RC Foundation: Programs provide Jefferson County residents the opportunity to safely, efficiently, and economically dispose of household chemical, electronic, and organic wastes. These programs specifically decrease pollutants to local storm water drainage systems, sanitary sewer systems, and contamination of surface and ground water resources. In 2011, the Rooney Road Recycling Center diverted 365,101 pounds of household hazardous materials (99% of total collected) from landfills and provided subsidized service (84%) benefiting more than 3,000 Jefferson County residents.
