Same Great Place, Brand New Name
Ralston House, formerly the Arvada Child Advocacy Center, has a new logo and a new name.
"Because we work with law enforcement agencies, district attorney’s offices, and other healthcare professionals in Adams, Jefferson, and Gilpin counties, we believe our name should reflect the diverse nature of the organizations using Ralston House to help the children visiting the center.” said Don Moseley, executive director of Ralston House.
Ralston House has provided professional, comprehensive services for thousands of sexually, physically, and/or emotionally abused children and their families since 1990. These child victims, ages 2 through 17, are assisted by a staff of professionals, offering all necessary services under one roof while providing a child-friendly and safe haven. At Ralston House, a forensic therapist assists with investigative interviews and facilitates family support groups. A medical professional performs medical exams to ensure the overall health of victims as well to gather physical evidence of assault. A victim advocate works with victims, families, and case professionals during the entire investigative process, assisting with paperwork, victim compensation, information, and referrals for specialized long-term counseling as well as acting as a liaison for the judicial process, case management, and follow-up. All services are free of charge.
In 2007, more than 400 child victims and their families received assistance at Ralston House. Unfortunately, those numbers are expected to increase in 2008.
Please consider financially supporting Ralston House, volunteering, or inviting the staff to speak at your club, work, church, etc. Send your (tax deductible) donation to Ralston House, 10795 W. 58th Avenue, Arvada, CO 80004; or for more information call Don Moseley at 720-898-6745.
