Public Art Dedication at the Arvada Center
ARVADA, CO – The Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities will install and formally dedicate Kendra Fleischman’s 13-foot high sculpture Dancing on the Stairs on Friday, June 6, 2008 at 4:30 p.m. in the Black Box courtyard at the Arvada Center.
Fleischman’s sculpture was commissioned by the Center following an announced “call for entries,” in conjunction with the Arvada Center’s 30th Anniversary celebration in 2006. After a popular vote by the Arvada Center patrons and citizens based on submitted scale models, Fleischman’s Dancing on the Stairs was announced the winner. Costs of the sculpture were underwritten by voluntary donations.
