Kipling Parkway Construction Zone

If you’ve traveled along Kipling Parkway, you may have noticed construction activity along the west side of this roadway between W. 51st Place and W. 58th Avenue. The Kipling Parkway Trail construction has been underway since March of this year with completion of the project slated for the end of October, 2011.

Last spring, City Council awarded a contract to Concrete Express, Inc. for the construction of Kipling Parkway Trail which is located on the west side of Kipling Parkway from W. 58th Avenue to just south of the Burlington Northern Railroad bridge.

Construction includes excavation of the existing slopes of Kipling, an approximately 10- foot-wide concrete trail, a block retaining wall, native seeding and bike racks at the southwest corner of W. 58th Avenue and Kipling Parkway.

This concrete trail will complete a missing link between the Arvada Ridge commercial development surrounding the Super Target center and W. 58th Avenue and will serve as an important bike/pedestrian connection for the Van Bibber Creek trail system and the future Arvada Ridge rail station as part of the FasTracks program.

Nearly 50% of the $525,000 project is funded by a Federal grant with the remaining amount funded by the City of Arvada’s Capital Improvement Program.
