Janet Feder
Janet Feder performs what she calls 'Postcard Pieces' - instrumental compositions for prepared guitar that are like short stories fitting the back of a postcard. Her performances are accompanied by her stories - often true - of landscapes, events, imaginings, and mysteries. With the specific implementation of objects that are most often small to invisible, she modifies the sonic range and expectations of her acoustic guitars to invoke sounds not typically associated with the instrument, further drawing the listener to friendly yet unfamiliar other landscapes.
