AARRRRGH! Who doesn’t want to be a pirate? When young Jeremy Jacob and his exceptional digging skills are recruited by Captain Braid Beard for treasure burying purposes, Jeremy thinks the pirate life is for him. Until he realizes that the simple things in life, like a kiss and a warm tucking in at night are those that are most important. Set sail for a hilarious and toughening journey as Jeremy learns that the most important things in life are worth more than buried treasure. A story of adventure and finding one’s own heart – a path that can’t be found on any treasure map.

Throughout the school year, the Arvada Center offers several performances of this unique art form so children with special needs can enjoy and participate in live theater alongside their peers.
Shadow-interpreted theater utilizes specially trained American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters to perform as “shadows” on stage alongside actors. Shadow theater marries sign language with choreographed movement, allowing the sign language to become a seamless part of the theater experience. In this way, audience members who are deaf, hard of hearing or language delayed can simultaneously see and “hear” the complete theater performance in the same way as hearing audiences. Shadow theater is also enjoyed by hearing audiences as an innovative art form and educational opportunity. Similar to watching a film with subtitles, viewers benefit from a rich bilingual experience and gain an appreciation for another language.
Hope you can join us for this very special production!

Oh my goodness!! This was SO good! My husband doesn’t like the theater and he really enjoyed this! Even my one year old girl sat thru it, watching and enjoying it as well! And of course both of our boys gad a great time! Definitely would recommend this!! And I wish there was a soundtrack too (hint, hint!)!!!
Saw this show yesterday! What a gem! Highly recommend it for all kids and adults. I think the adults in the audience were laughing more than the kids! I was in tears with the “Sensitive Guy” song… Yes Sheila – there definitely should be a sound track! I immediately called my girlfriend this morning so she can go with me and kiddo and her 2 kids on Saturday, again. Well worth a second showing! GREAT show Arvada Center! And I LOVE how the pirates are out in the audience too! SO FUN!!
Cute to boot! I really enjoyed this show. Great for all ages. Sounded really good, too. Nice job!
