Happy Birthday, America!

What celebration takes over 2,500 hours, 200 staff and volunteers, four organizations, and six months to plan and produce; attracts over 30,000 people; and lights up the night sky with blasts of brilliant fireworks?  It’s Arvada’s annual spectacular Fourth of July celebration on Friday, July 4 at the Lutz/Stenger Complex, W. 58th Avenue just west of Kipling.

Produced by the Arvada Festivals Commission, KOOL 105 Radio, and Apex Park and Recreation District (formerly North Jeffco Park and Recreation District), Arvada’s Fourth of July celebration includes games, food concessions, display booths, a great car show, and live music all afternoon.   Get ready to party beginning at 3:00 p.m. with great live bands and your favorite deejays, provided by KOOL 105 Radio.
At 9:00 p.m. the sky will be filled with the most spectacular (and safest) fireworks show anywhere as KOOL 105 Radio simulcasts a collection of great oldies and patriotic music.  The 25-minute fireworks show by Stonebrakers Fireworks will be pre-programmed to the music.

Free family-friendly events throughout the afternoon and evening include:

  • Kids’ Park featuring an obstacle course, bungee run, big slide, face tattoos, and more.
  • Classic Car Show by KOOL 105.
  • The Arvada Police Department’s "safety bug."
  • Child DNA kits offered by Arvada Citizen’s Police Academy Alumni.
  • Fire trucks and emergency vehicles on display from the Arvada Fire Protection District and Pridemark.
  • Military display.
  • A midway with community booths and patriotic items for sale.
  • Food and drink concession stands and carts.

Volunteers are needed for the Kid’s Park.  Please call Alii at Apex Park and Recreation District at 303-467-7173 for a fun volunteer opportunity.

Stay tuned to KOOL105 for updated event information as well as any inclement weather announcements. For more information and updates, contact the Festivals Commission at www.arvadafestivals.com or call (720) 898-7400.
