Got License?

Arvada Residents in Adams, Jefferson County Required to License Dogs

All municipalities within Jefferson County have adopted ordinances requiring dog owners to license their pets beginning July 1, 2007.  The program is administered by Jefferson County and the County Board of Commissioners is responsible for establishing dog licensing fees: $15 fee for fixed pets and  $30 for unsterilized pets.

Arvada residents who live within Adams County are required to license their dogs through Jefferson County.  This does not apply to people living in the unincorporated areas of Adams County.

A License is a Ticket Home

Requiring dogs to be registered:

Expedites reuniting lost pets with owners.  The database contains owner information, vet information, and important medical concerns.
Allows for tracking of aggressive and dangerous animals as well as habitual offenders of animal laws throughout the county.
Ensures rabies vaccinations.
Creates an additional revenue source for the Table Mountain Animal Center (TMAC).
Promotes spaying and neutering when higher fees are charged for registering unsterilized animals.
