In partnership with The Interfaith Hospitality Network of Greater Denver, over 50 congregations participate in providing families experiencing homelessness home-like accommotdations, meals and hospitality on a rotating basis. Two rotations serve up to five families each. Families work on their goals at the Day Center and each evening they are transported by van to their host congregation. Each congregation hosts their guests from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. for a one-week period approximately four times a year. IHN unites people from different communities for faith to work in a collaborative way, but no time are reliegious values imposed on our guests.

In addition to providing families with shelter, the IHN professional staff conunsels parents in their search for jobs and housing, and assists in solving other issues that confront families experiencing homelessness. Session are held in financial management and parenting. Safe childcare space and toys are available also.

IHN houses families 24/7. Since opening in 1997, IHN has provided over 61,000 individual days of care and nights of lodging. In 2005, IHN assisted 75%of guest families find housing and 78% achieve economic improvement. An average of 44 days in the IHN program is needed for a family to meet their goals and find affordable housing. As the cost of housing continues to rise, the average length of stay is increasing. IHN of Greater Denver is vital in solving the community problem of homelessness.
