Colorado Homeless Families is a non-profit transitional housing program. CHF has been serving the Metro Denver area's 6 counties since 1987. The mission of CHF is to provide transitional housing and supportive services for homeless families with dependent children and to help them become economically self-sufficient within 18 months to 2 years. CHF serves families with children who are classified as "New Poor" or "Working Poor." The parents of these families must attend college or a trade school, or be working at a position which will provide sufficient income with the opportunity to improve their financial situation within the length of the program. The families must have short and long-term goals and demonstrate their initiative to improve their financial and social situations. Adults must be willing to work with a counselor and case manager, attend Support Group meetings and Educational Seminars and perform Community Service hours back to the organization. Families interested should call the office to be screened for an application.
