The Arvada Community Food Bank, in cooperation with the City of Arvada, is a non-profit organization managed by an excecutive director, operated by more than 70 volunteers, and governed by a non-paid board of directors.

Our goal is to provide a well-balanced three-day supply of food to accommodate families or individuals that qualify for limited emergency assistance.

Annually, items and cash donations provide over 8,000 boxes that contain an emergency three-day food supply for the needs within our service area.

How We Got Started
The Arvada Community Food Bank opened in 1982 through the efforts of Arvada churches, the Arvada Resources for Ministry and Spirit, the Arvada Human Services Department and the Arvada Community Resources Association.

The Arvada Food Bank is operated by volunteers and relies completely on cash and food donations. Every food item and every dollar collected goes directly to needy households in our area.

Mission
The mission of the Arvada Community Food Bank is to provide emergency food service to needy persons living in the northern section of Jefferson County. The food bank is a non-profit corporation.
Who We Help
The food bank serves families and individuals who live in northern Jefferson county.

To receive food, families and individuals must:

  • Live in area served (see map for boundaries).
  • Present photo identification.
  • Present a current piece of mail indicating residence in the area served.

The food bank offers a well balanced, three day supply of food to accommodate the number of people in each family.

Those in need may visit the food bank anywhere from one to six times per year.
