Apex Park and Recreation District provides excellent, affordable and accessible community recreation. Activities are open to all, but they are discounted for district residents. The district was established in 1956 and covers about 60 square miles, bounded roughly by Sheridan Boulevard on the east, 52nd Avenue on the south, Highway 93 on the west and the Boulder county line on the north. Facilities include the Apex Center, a large all-in-one recreation center with ice skating, aquatics, climbing wall, gyms and more; the Senior Recreation Center; the Racquetball and Fitness Center; the Garrison Street Sports Center (with indoor turf arena) Secrest Youth and Teen Center; Indian Tree Golf Course; Meyers indoor pool; the Arvada Tennis Center; Lake Arbor, Secrest and Fisher outdoor pools; and Long Lake Ranch, Lutz, Memorial and Pioneer Park sports field complexes.
