Colorado Insulate Program

HERE IS YOUR CHANCE TO RECEIVE A CASH REBATE FOR INSULATING YOUR HOME!!

The Housing and Neighborhood Revitalization Division of the City Community Development Department is providing to Arvada homeowners the new 2008 Insulate Colorado rebate program.  This program is being made available through the Governors Energy Office in cooperation with the City.  It is intended to increase consumer awareness of residential energy efficiency options and actively promote the installation of additional whole-house energy saving measures.

The program provides rebates to residential property owners as detailed below for home insulation expenses a property owner incurs after April 22, 2008. 

To participate in the program, a homeowner must work with an eligible insulation contractor and the home must be located within the City. The eligible insulation contractor must correctly install insulation to a determined performing R-value, in either the home’s attic and/or exterior walls, as well as air-seal all appropriate areas. Upon completion, the homeowner must complete a rebate request form, attach copies of the contractor’s official work invoice and insulation-card, and sign and return an affidavit with an accepted form of identification to prove lawful presence in the United States; and submit those items to the City for payment of the rebate.

Upon approval, the City will provide the homeowner with a rebate of either 20% of the total qualified insulation cost, or $300, whichever is less. Rebates are to be distributed on a first-received, first-paid process, with the program closing when funds are no longer available. All homes that homeowners are issued a rebate for are subject to verification of the completed work. Rebates are limited to one per address and will not be available for work commenced or completed prior to April 22, 2008.  Owners of owner occupied; or one or more rental homes are eligible for the rebate so long as those properties are located in the City.
