ARVADA, CO – The Front Range Youth Symphony Orchestras are holding their 2008-2009 season auditions on Saturday, May 10 and Saturday, May 17, 2008 at the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities, 6901 Wadsworth Blvd. The orchestras are seeking students ages 8 – 21 to play string, brass, woodwind and percussion instruments for their three ensembles, the Youth Symphony, Symphonic Strings and Concert Strings. Orchestra placement is based on age, experience and ability. There is a $15 audition fee payable to the Arvada Center. Auditions are by appointment only and can be scheduled by calling Keith Ewer at (720) 898-7238 or keith-e@arvadacenter.org.

Members of the Front Range Youth Symphony Orchestras attend weekly practices and perform in three major concerts each season. More information about each orchestra, including tuition rates and rehearsal schedules, can be found below. Students who are members of any FRYS group are also members of their schools' instrumental music program. It is our belief that public school music programs offer students, among other things, valuable ensemble training and necessary repetition. The Front Range Youth Symphony Orchestras seek to enhance, not replace, school music programs.

The Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities is one of the metro area's largest cultural attractions, devoted to all aspects of the arts and generously supported by the Scientific & Cultural Facilities District (SCFD) and located two and a half miles north of Interstate 70 on Wadsworth Blvd.
