Arvada Police Nationally Accredited Again!

The Arvada Police Department became the first law enforcement agency in Colorado to be accredited for an unprecedented seventh time through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA).

Members of CALEA visited the Department this past summer to analyze policies and other documentation to determine if the agency met 459 standards set by the international organization.

"Achieving accredited status through CALEA is important because it ensures the department complies with the highest standards in the profession of law enforcement,” said Police Chief Don Wick. “We pride ourselves on setting the standard for excellence in policing, and CALEA’s accreditation process helps exemplify this."

Chief Wick accepted the honor of accreditation status at the national CALEA conference held in Colorado Springs in mid November.
