Arvada Fire Buys Building to House Headquarters

The Arvada Fire Protection District has purchased an office building at 7903 Allison Way that will be used as District Headquarters.

The sale was finalized on December 14, 2007 at a purchase price of $1.425 million.  Of the two-story, 16,000 square foot building, the District will have administrative offices on the second floor and the District Board meeting room will share the first floor with two of the building’s previous tenants. 

Currently, the administrative staff is spread out through three buildings that the District already owns but none of the three buildings were large enough to house the growing staff.  The main administration is located on the second floor of Station 6 at 6503 Simms Street. 

“Buying this building allows the District the ability to grow in the future and not be tied to paying to use someone else’s site,” said Chief Jon Greer. 

Some changes in the building will be required to fit the District’s needs.  All work should be completed and the building will be occupied in the first quarter of 2008.
