Arvada Economic Development Association, Small Business Grant Program is now accepting applications--

The Arvada Economic Development Association (AEDA) approved additional funding for their 50/50 matching grant program and is now accepting applications. AEDA created the Small Business Grant Program to support existing Arvada businesses and property owners who wish to make capital improvements to the exterior of their properties and subsequently the Arvada community. This 50/50 matching grant program leverages AEDA funds and private sector investment to enhance commercial properties in Arvada. The application deadline is Monday, April 15 at 5:00 p.m.. To apply, go to Arvadaeconomicdevelopment.org/financial assistance and download a program overview and application. For questions or additional program details, contact Ryan Stachelski at 720-898-7016 or rstachelski@arvada.org.

The Arvada Small Business Grant program was established in July, 2011 allocating $400,000. Twenty-four projects were awarded matching grants, which resulted in over two million dollars in total project investment. Recently, AEDA surveyed grant recipients who have completed their projects. The results were very positive. Overall recipients experienced a 63% increase in business. The improvements also lowered vacancy rates, and created additional jobs. "This program is another tool that demonstrates the City’s commitment to small business growth in the City of Arvada,” said Bob Dyer, AEDA board member and City Council Member.
