Arvada Council for the Arts and Humanities Welcomes New Member
ARVADA, CO – The Arvada Council for the Arts and Humanities is pleased to announce Debra Havins as the newest council member. Four council members were also appointed to new positions.
Debra Havins is a graduate of Drake University with a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and has been working for Level 3 Communications in Broomfield since November 2007. As Level 3’s manager of public relations, Ms. Havins is responsible for all media and analyst relations in the Enterprise segment. “I’ve lived in Arvada for 14 years and I see an exciting turning point for the Arts Council and its support of the Arvada Center.” Looking forward, Ms. Havins sees great opportunities for change in the next three to five years and states that one day, “I will look back and be able to say that I was a part of that.”
The Arvada Center is honored to have Ms. Havins as part of the Arts Council. With her extensive experience in sales operations, financial services, marketing and public relations, it proves to be a mutually beneficial partnership.
Four existing council members were also recently appointed to new positions. Kimberly Wagner, formerly Vice Chair, is now the Chair of the Arts Council. Steven Caulk, former Secretary, now holds the position of Vice Chair, while Rachel Zenzinger serves as Secretary. Immediate Past Chair Steve Swenson holds the Treasurer title.
The role of the Arvada Council for the Arts and Humanities is to advise the Arvada City Council, provide guidance and support to the Arvada Center staff and act as an advocate for public support and funding for the Arvada Center. Each council member provides advice to the Arvada City Council about the Arvada Center on a periodic basis. Members provide volunteer assistance at Arvada Center events, help raise financial resources to support Arvada Center programs, serve on at least one Arvada Center committee and participate in committee projects. New additions to the Arts Council are made by appointment. The Arts Council members are:
