Arvada Center Summer Entertainment Series: Southern Exposure and Baxter Black
ARVADA, CO – The Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities presents an up close and personal evening with bluegrass music and cowboy poetry favorite, Southern Exposure and Baxter Black. Part of the Summer Entertainment Series, this concert takes place on Saturday, July 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the Outdoor Amphitheater.
Described as “…the nation’s most successful living poet,” by The New York Times, Baxter Black, ex-veterinarian and sorry team roper, humorously accounts the flaws and foibles of everyday cowboy life. From the Tonight Show to PBS and NPR, Baxter’s hometown verse has been heard and loved by millions.
An Arvada Center favorite, Southern Exposure brings the perfect blend of traditional and contemporary Bluegrass tunes, and has carved out a permanent place in hearts all across Colorado.
Tickets are $32 for Covered, $18 for Lawn and $10 for Child (Lawn). For tickets, call the Arvada Center box office at (720) 898-7200 or visit arvadacenter.org. All summer concerts are held rain or shine.
Baxter Black
will also be headlining the 20th Anniversary Colorado Cowboy Poetry
Gathering at the Arvada Center in January 2009. Tickets will be available

A barbecue dinner is available from the Arvada Center’s catering service for a cost of $11.95 in advance or $12.95 at the concert. Meals can be ordered when purchasing tickets. In compliance with city regulations, no alcoholic beverages or glass containers can be brought into the amphitheater. The Arvada Center offers beer and wine service. Concessions open at 6:00 p.m. Patrons are welcome to bring their own meals to the performances.
